A Weekend to Remember: Homecoming 2022

What a weekend! Good weather, great friends, and wonderful memories made through class reunions, Tiger Tailgate, Alumni Achievement Awards, athletic competitions, lectures and panels, and much more. $100,000,000+ and Counting

CheerleadersHomecoming Weekend offered the perfect setting to announce that Wittenberg has raised $100,125,997 for its largest comprehensive campaign, , surpassing the $100-million goal nine months early! Thank you to all our supporters and the more than 32% of alumni who have given already. There is much to celebrate, and we are excited to see what Tigers can do as we continue our campaign efforts until June 30, 2023.

Calling All Ohio Alumni!

Ohio alumni are invited to join the Columbus Alumni Chapter for an EXCLUSIVE event cheering on the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday, Nov. 17, beginning at 7 p.m. Bring the family and your fellow Witt alumni friends, and grab your tickets now - $50 per ticket provides a ticketed seat in our private party pavilion, arena snacks and bites, and special CBJ prizes, including a visit from Stinger! Party room opens at 6 p.m. Tiger Up!

Tiger Opportunity Grant

Recitation HallTo help make a private liberal-arts education accessible to Ohio students of all backgrounds, Wittenberg has launched a new tuition-free program for eligible Ohio residents. Ohio high school graduates who are eligible to receive the Ohio College Opportunity Grant are now eligible to also receive the Wittenberg Tiger Opportunity Grant, which will cover the cost of tuition for first-time-in-college students through a combination of institutional, state, and federal financial aid.

Full Approval Granted

Nursing StudentsAfter nearly five years of conditional approval and annual progress reporting with on-site visits to ensure that the implementation of Wittenberg鈥檚 Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) has followed the laws for nursing education programs in the state, full approval has been granted by the Ohio Board of Nursing to Wittenberg鈥檚 program.

FIRE Week

Nursing StudentsWittenberg will offer 16 new opportunities for students to explore, engage, and connect as part of the second annual Focused, Integrated, Reflective Experience or FIRE Week next spring. Students can learn about water rights in California, tour the Great Lakes, build houses in rural Georgia, study startups in Austin, go on safari in South Africa, serve in Costa Rica, or stay local and visit Ohio museums, design a career action plan, or make music in a chamber ensemble, among others.

Professional-in-Residence

Tim McCarthyEntrepreneur and philanthropist Tim McCarthy 鈥02 is serving as the first Professional-in-Residence for the 2022-23 academic year. A new pilot program, Professionals-in-Residence volunteer a significant amount of their time to help guide students through the transition into career exploration as a young professional.

Student Debt Relief

The application for Federal Student Loan Cancellation will be available in early October, per the U.S. Department of Education (USDE). Individuals should only work with the USDE for this process. Scammers already are posing as a 鈥渟tudent loan forgiveness鈥 team and taking personally identifiable information over the phone. The USDE will not directly contact borrowers regarding loan cancellation; instead, student loan borrowers must initiate this process directly with the USDE. Individuals can obtain Pell Grant information, loan debt information, and much more by logging into the USDE portal. Here are direct links to helpful resources for student loan borrowers:
