Commit to Witt Countdown, National Accreditation Earned

In 12 days, the Wittenberg community will again come together for the University's annual . With the theme of "Pass Your Light: Give Like a Tiger," this 24-hour philanthropic event has connected alumni and friends across generations in giving what they can to support students and the Wittenberg mission. Many alumni have also stepped up to serve as Commit to Witt Ambassadors to help us spread the word and encourage their classmates and friends to participate. For those still interested in being an Ambassador, please feel free to sign up below. We value all our Tigers, and we look forward to having you join us.

2025 Commencement Speaker Announced, Sweet Success

Inspiring change through community-building and business transformation, Gina Schaefer '93, founder of 13 ACE Hardware stores and author of Recovery Hardware, will present the keynote address at the 175th Commencement exercises scheduled for Saturday, May 17, in picturesque Commencement Hollow. The announcement came during the Class of 2025鈥檚 annual 鈥100 Days 鈥楾il Graduation鈥 event Thursday evening, Feb. 6. Congratulations to business owner Kristen Bailey '03, whose company, Sweets & Meats BBQ, was selected for the nationwide "50 States, 50 Stories" campaign for Google Workspace with Gemini. One small business per state was chosen with Sweets & Meats BBQ winning for Ohio. Now the company's 30-second commercial will air during Sunday's Super Bowl. .

Award-Winning Program Founder, Sought-After Facility

The Greater Springfield Association of Fundraisers recently presented Professor of Philosophy Julius Bailey with its National Philanthropy Day Outstanding Philanthropist award for his work as the founder of Dance Stomp Shake, which first began in 2019 when members of Concerned Black Students (CBS) approached Bailey about putting on a dance show. Wittenberg鈥檚 Health, Wellness & Athletics Complex continues to be a sought-after location for outside athletics teams, regional bands, and other area organizations. Last month, the 265,000-square-foot facility was bursting with energy once again, as more than 75 cheerleading squads competed for state titles during the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Spirit State Championship. More events are filling the calendar as the new semester begins.
