Our competitive scholarship program includes scholarships for academic merit, special interest, fine arts, first-year research, multicultural leadership, and many more that are available to eligible, enrolled students during the 2025 鈥 2026 academic year.

Please note that the scholarships below are available only to incoming undergraduate students beginning at 麻豆传媒团队 in the Fall 2025 or Spring 2026 Semesters.

After a holistic review of a student鈥檚 admission application, 麻豆传媒团队 automatically rewards your achievements at the time of acceptance. There is no separate application to be considered for our merit awards. All 麻豆传媒团队 Merit Awards for First Time in College Students are renewable for four years. Students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress for financial aid eligibility to renew all scholarships, annually. Eligibility for these awards is not a guarantee of admission to Wittenberg. All Wittenberg merit awards are calculated based on the student鈥檚 cumulative grade point average and/or test score at the time of admission. Merit awards will not be upgraded if improved grade point average or test score information is submitted for review. The listed merit awards below are available to eligible students enrolling at Wittenberg during the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 entrance terms.

The following merit awards are determined based on EITHER cumulative high school GPA or test score 鈥 whichever is greater. If a student is Test Score Optional, the award is based on the cumulative GPA.

* GPAs listed above are based on a cumulative college GPA if the student has at least two full semesters of college courses completed. If less than 2 semesters of college courses have been completed, a combination of the student鈥檚 high school and college GPAs will be considered to determine a merit award. Students with a cumulative college GPA below 3.0 will be reviewed by the Admission Committee, and will include review of their high school transcripts. Awarding of any scholarship listed above is subject to change, based on the student鈥檚 combination of college and high school GPAs considered, when applicable.

** Wittenberg is a NCAA Division III institution and cannot take athletic awards or ability into account when awarding scholarships or awards.

Phi Theta Kappa Award ($2,000)

This award is offered to any transfer student who is a member of Phi Theta Kappa and has maintained good academic standing. The Phi Theta Kappa Award will be awarded in addition to any Wittenberg merit award that the student receives. Students must supply a copy of their PTK Member Certificate in order to be eligible for this award.

Think a private university academic experience is out of reach? 麻豆传媒团队's tuition-free opportunity can provide you with the most affordable way to succeed in our vibrant academic community. Ohio high school graduates who are eligible to receive the Ohio College Opportunity Grant are now eligible to also receive the Wittenberg Tiger Opportunity Grant, which will cover the cost of tuition for first-time-in-college students and transfer students through a combination of institutional, state, and federal financial aid. Students must be entering Wittenberg as a first-time undergraduate or transfer student in Fall 2025 or Spring 2026, graduate from an Ohio high school, and be eligible to receive the Ohio College Opportunity Grant as an Ohio resident based on their Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

There is no separate scholarship application needed to be considered for the Tiger Opportunity Grant Program.

Students who submit their admission application by November 15 will receive the renewable $1,000 Priority Tiger Award upon acceptance.

The National Scholars Grant is awarded to out-of-state first-time-in-college students with a 3.0 cumulative high school GPA and out-of-state transfer students with a cumulative 3.0 college GPA. This grant will be awarded at the time of admission, based on the information present on the student鈥檚 application for admission.

The Ohio Scholars Grant is awarded to Ohio resident first-time-in-college students who are accepted into and join the University Honors Program. These students meet the qualifications for the Presidential or Provost Merit Awards and accept their offer to join the University Honors Program. This grant will be awarded at the time of admission, based on the information present on the student鈥檚 application for admission.

Visit Awards 鈥 Earn up to $500

Students can earn up to $500 in one-time awards for visiting campus. Each award can only be claimed once.

  • Future Tiger Visit 鈥 Earn $250 by attending an on-campus visit through the Office of Admission between July 1, 2024 - February 15, 2025. This can include an individual daily visit or a Fall Visit Day. Your application must also be on file prior to February 15th in order to receive this award.   • Accepted Student Day Award 鈥 Earn $250 by attending an Accepted Student Day.

Early FAFSA-Filer Award - $500

Receive a one-time $500 award for filing your FAFSA prior to February 15.

*Students can earn up to a total of $1,000 in micro-scholarships.

Admitted students who are active and current members of a Lutheran Congregation are eligible to receive the Lutheran Promise Scholarship, which is an additional $1,000 per year that will be included in your financial aid package. Information on your Lutheran membership and affiliation must be included on your application at the time of submission.  The Lutheran Promise Scholarship is considered a renewable Special Population Scholarship. Students can receive a maximum of two (2) Special Population Scholarships.

Admitted students who are ranked first or second or named Valedictorian or Salutatorian of their graduating high school class are eligible to receive this additional scholarship of $1,000 per year. This award will be made based on information provided on the high school transcript at the time of admission. If you believe you are ranked first or second in your class, and your high school does not rank students, please contact us for an alternative method for rank or designation as Valedictorian or Salutatorian. The Valedictorian/Salutatorian Scholarship is considered a renewable Special Population Scholarship. Students can receive a maximum of two (2) Special Population Scholarships.

Admitted students whose parent, step-parent, or grandparent graduated from Wittenberg or whose sibling or step-sibling is a current undergraduate degree-seeking student or graduated from Wittenberg are eligible to receive the Wittenberg Sibling/Legacy Recognition Scholarship. This award is an additional $1,000 per year that will be included in your financial aid package. The award will be made based on information provided on your application at the time of admission. The Wittenberg Sibling/Legacy Recognition Scholarship is considered a renewable Special Population Scholarship. Students can receive a maximum of two (2) Special Population Scholarships.

Admitted students whose parent is employed by a Wittenberg Preferred Partner are eligible to receive the Wittenberg Preferred Partner Scholarship. This award is an additional $1,000 per year that will be included in your financial aid package. The award will be made based on information provided on your application at the time of admission. The Wittenberg Preferred Partner Scholarship is considered a renewable Special Population Scholarship. Students can receive a maximum of two (2) Special Population Scholarships.

Wittenberg recognizes individual talents, experiences and passions through special interest scholarships in art, business, chemistry, environmental science, Esports, and theatre. These scholarships require a separate application. All special interest scholarships have an annual value of $2,000 and are renewable for up to four years. The total renewable value of the special interest scholarships is $8,000. All special interest scholarships are competitive, and require you to submit application materials. All applications and supporting materials must be submitted by January 15, 2025, to be considered.

First Year Research Awards are scholarships designed to match outstanding students with Wittenberg鈥檚 award-winning faculty. Students selected for First Year Research awards will work closely with a faculty member while pursuing exciting research opportunities in the first year at Wittenberg.

The First Year Research Awards are for $2,000 ($1,000 per semester) for the student鈥檚 first year only. This is a non-renewable award. Students can only receive one First Year Research Award and one will be awarded per area listed below. First Year Research Awards can be combined with other Special Interest Awards. Eligible students will be invited to apply.

  • Deadline: February 15

The Choose Ohio First Scholarship is designed to provide funding to support students in the critical fields of science, including health professions, technology, sciences, and mathematics (STEM).

Criteria and Expectations: The Choose Ohio First Scholarship is available for eligible first-time-in-college and transfer students applying for Fall 2025. Awards are selective based on demonstration of excellent academic achievement, intended interest in the pursuit of STEM fields, and demonstrated financial need. This award is intended for students who plan to declare a major in Biochemistry Molecular Biology, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Data Science, Environmental Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Neuroscience, Nursing, Physics, and Public Health. Students must maintain a 3.0 college GPA, and declare a major in one of the eligible STEM fields by April 15, 2026, in order to renew eligibility for this award. If the student鈥檚 GPA does not meet the minimum GPA threshold at any point in the student鈥檚 college career, the student may be required to provide supplemental or remedial paperwork.

Amount: Up to $5,000 per year, renewable annually. Award amounts may vary.

Deadline: Students must apply by March 15, 2025

Guidelines: Students must provide a resume detailing their high school courses and extracurricular experiences related to science, technology, engineering and math fields. An essay (no more than 800 words) is also required, describing the student鈥檚 interest in STEM fields and future career goals.

Eligibility: First-time-in-college and transfer Ohio resident students must be accepted to Wittenberg, apply for the Choose Ohio First Scholarship by March 15, file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and have demonstrated financial need, and maintain eligibility requirements to renew the award each year.

$3,500 - The Rochester Area Scholarship is awarded to an incoming freshman from the Rochester, N.Y., area. Students must apply to Wittenberg by February 1.

Full tuition - Recipients of the Bill Martin Scholarship must reside in Washtenaw, Houghton or Keweenaw County, Michigan, and be a student in the incoming class. The deadline for this scholarship is February 15.
