CHANGE to Medical plan deductibles:

  • For High Deductible Health Plans (HDHP's) with an "embedded" deductible, the minimum deductible amount for single level coverage is increasing in 2023 per IRS regulations.  To remain compliant, our plan must increase the embedded deductible from $2,800 to $3,000 for employees enrolled in single level coverage.  The deductible for employees enrolled in family level coverages (includes +spouse, +child(ren) and family levels) will increase from $5,600 to $6,000.

CHANGE to Medical premiums:

  • Wittenberg healthcare premiums across all coverage levels are increasing.  The Wittenberg healthcare plan, and many plans across the country, are seeing higher than normal renewal increases.  Many factors contribute to plan increases including general inflation, sky-rocketing pharmacy costs especially in specialty pharmacy, escalating stop-loss premiums, implementation of healthcare & pharmacy 'transparency' regulations, and an increase in medical procedures post-covid. Please see the Rate Sheet for the 2023 premiums.

CHANGE to FSA & HSA contribution maximums:

  • The FSA & HSA maximum contribution limits have been adjusted for inflation by the IRS.

NO CHANGE to Dental plan design or premiums

NO CHANGE to Vision plan design or premiums

NO CHANGE to Supplemental Life Insurance(s) plan design or premiums

A summary of benefit offerings for 2023 is listed below. See the 2023 Employee Benefit Guide for additional details on each offering.

Medical Insurance

麻豆传媒团队 offers a complete and comprehensive High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) through Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. To access the highest level of coverage, use in-network providers whenever possible. The Anthem network is one of the largest in the area.  Out-of-network coverage is available but will be covered at a lower rate and members are responsible for a separate out-of-network deductible.

The HDHP provides preventive care and preventive prescriptions at no-cost* for covered members!  We encourage members to take advantage of these no-cost preventive services and prescriptions whenever possible.  Prescription coverage is included as part of the medical plan.  The 4-tier Rx formulary in place for 2023 is .

For non-preventive care or pharmacy, members must first meet a deductible before the Plan pays its portion.  After deductible is met, medical costs are covered at 100% and prescriptions fall into the appropriate co-pay levels.  After the deductible and prescription co-pays reach the out-of-pocket limit all costs are covered 100%.

Therapy services are subject to prior authorization and medical necessity and your provider should work with Anthem to obtain these approvals prior to treatment. Once approved, therapy services are subject to deductible then covered at 100% after deductible is met.

Please see the HDHP Benefit Summary for details and the 2023 Rate Sheet for monthly medical premiums.

*must be billed by provider as a preventive service or preventive Rx

Health Savings Account (HSA)

Enrollment in a qualified HDHP allows members to contribute to a tax-advantages Health Savings Account (HSA).  The HSA is a bank account in your name which both you and Wittenberg can deposit funds to on a tax-free basis. For 2023, Wittenberg will continue to make HSA contributions, on a pro-rated basis, of $650 to employees enrolled in single medical coverage and $1,300 to employees enrolled in all other medical coverage levels. You can use the funds in your HSA to help pay your medical deductible and prescription co-pays, plus other eligible medical, dental, and vision expenses. Any funds in the account that you do not spend will roll over into the next year and remain available to you. The HSA is your bank account and should you leave Wittenberg you may take the account with you for use on future qualified healthcare expenses.  Please see the complete information regarding an HSA at  for possible exclusions and limitations of eligibility.  See the Chard Snyder HSA flyer for additional details and the HSA sample scenarios to see how the HSA works with our healthcare plan.

Dental Insurance

麻豆传媒团队 offers Dental coverage to eligible employees through Superior Dental Care. You may see any dental provider you wish but will have the highest level of coverage when you use an in-network provider. The Dental plan offers a wide network of providers and offers coverage for routine preventive visits, basic and major services. Please see the Dental Benefit Summary for details and the 2023 Rate Sheet for monthly dental premiums. (No change to dental premiums for 2023!)

Vision Insurance

麻豆传媒团队 also provides you with the option to enroll in our vision plan through Anthem Blue View Vision. The vision plan is a "materials only" plan.  The vision exam will continue to be a preventive service under the Anthem medical plan.  The materials only Blue View Vision plan includes coverage for eye glasses and contracts, as well as discounts on various lens enhancements. Please see the full Vision Benefit Summary for details and the 2023 Rate Sheet for monthly vision premiums. (No change to vision premiums for 2023!)

Flexible Spending & Dependent Care Accounts

Eligible employees have the opportunity to enroll in a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Limited Flexible Spending Account (LMT), and/or Dependent Care Spending Account (DCA) through Chard Snyder. These accounts allow you to set aside pre-tax dollars to cover qualified healthcare, vision, dental, or dependent care expenses. Participants pay no federal or state income taxes on the money placed in an FSA, LMT, or DCA. As you incur eligible expenses, use your Chard Snyder debit card to pay at the point of service or submit the appropriate paperwork to be reimbursed by your account. Up to $610 of FSA or LMT dollars can be carried over into the next year. The DCA does not allow for a carry-over of funds and funds not used will be forfeited. See the Chard Snyder FSA flyer for additional details.

Voluntary/Supplemental Life Insurance(s)

Employees have the option to apply for and purchase additional voluntary life insurance(s) during this Annual Enrollment period. Voluntary life premiums are 100% employee paid through payroll deductions. Premiums are at a group rate and based on your age. The employee must elect voluntary coverage on their own life in order to elect voluntary coverage on their spouse and/or children's lives. The option to purchase coverage for the employee is in 10k increments, for the spouse in 5k increments, and for children a flat 10k. Statement of Health (SOH) may be required. See the 2023 Rate Sheet for monthly supplemental life premiums.  Employees enrolled in voluntary supplemental life insurances are eligible for the following free services:
