Wittenberg Series Continues With Concert Nov. 13

Wittenberg presents 鈥淰oicePlay in Concert鈥 as part of the 2014-15 Wittenberg Series at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, in historic Weaver Chapel. Performances by Wittenberg鈥檚 a cappella groups Just Eve and Wittmen Crew begin at 7:10 p.m.

As seen on Season 4 of NBC鈥檚 鈥淭he Sing-Off,鈥 VoicePlay is an a cappella ensemble based in Orlando, Fla. Formerly 42Five, VoicePlay recreates the orchestrated sound of an entire musical production with nothing but the human voice.

鈥淭he cast of VoicePlay has taken the timeless sound of vocal music and turned it completely on its head,鈥 according to the group鈥檚 website. 鈥淩e-imagined as a full stage show, amazing, humorous, and vertigo-inducing harmonies pepper VoicePlay鈥檚 music-without-music sound as it ping-pongs between eras and styles, channeling the breadth of the musical landscape and lacing it with inventive and often hilarious on-stage theatrics.鈥

In addition to the Wittenberg Series performance, VoicePlay will host a Master Class at 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14, in Room 300 of Krieg Hall, 632 Woodlawn Ave.

This Wittenberg Series event is made possible by a gift from Gil Belles 鈥62 and Union Board. All Wittenberg Series events are free and open to the public.

Now in its 32nd year, the Wittenberg Series brings distinguished lecturers and performing artists of national and international prominence to the Wittenberg campus and Springfield community.
