On the Road Again

Wittenberg Choir To Tour Two States on Annual Spring Concert Tour

Springfield, Ohio 鈥 One of the most traveled college choral groups in the United States, the Wittenberg Choir is set to hit the road again for its annual Spring Concert Tour, Feb. 25-26 and March 3-7, 2017. This year鈥檚 group will share its collective passion for music in Michigan and Ohio.

Under the direction of Erik Zinter, visiting assistant professor and director of choral activities at Wittenberg, the choir will begin its tour at 麻豆传媒团队鈥檚 Weaver Chapel at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25. There will be six total performances with the tour鈥檚 final appearance taking place in Michigan on Monday, March 6, at First Lutheran Church in Muskegon.

鈥淲e have a wide variety of music planned for the program,鈥 said Zinter, who is going on his second tour with the Wittenberg Choir. 鈥淲e are doing a set of Lutheran chorales, commemorating the 500-year anniversary of the Lutheran Reformation. We are also singing a set of nocturnes and a set of music with some themes of the modern world we live in 鈥 war, peace, love, and advertising research. Other than that, there are the typical folk songs and hymns that audiences enjoy.鈥

The Wittenberg Choir is comprised of 42 singers, representing many different departments across campus, and is accompanied by Laurie Smith.
