For the first time since the 1993-94 season, Wittenberg men鈥檚 basketball has won its first 16 games, in the process rocketing up to No. 5 in the NCAA Division III poll. Heading into the final month of the 2017-18 regular season, Wittenberg holds a commanding three-game lead in the North Coast Athletic Conference standings following wins over arch-rival Wooster and defending league champion Ohio Wesleyan as Head Coach Matt Croci 鈥94 reached 100 wins as a head coach.


Bernadette EvansAssignment Of Fire

Criminal justice reform advocate Bernadette Evans '89 presented the keynote address during the Wittenberg Series' Martin Luther King Jr. Convocation. A contributor to the Public Policy and Research Institute Think Tank, she writes and speaks about improving relations between law enforcement agencies and community members in an effort to reduce violence.

Campus OverviewImpacting Our Area

A recent study conducted by The Southwestern Ohio Council for Higher Education (SOCHE) revealed that Wittenberg鈥檚 economic impact on the area was approximately $104 million in fiscal year 2016, which includes operations, capital expenditures, student and visitor spending, the increase of training and knowledge base of the area, and the expenditures of the university, its employees and its students.

Propel OhioPropel Ohio

Committed to developing tomorrow鈥檚 leaders today, Wittenberg sent 10 students to the Propel Ohio 2017 summit, a statewide conference in which participants discussed issues that affect childhood poverty, including food security, inequities in education and homelessness.

Alumni Relations

Recitation HallWittenberg is excited to welcome applications for the Director of Alumni Relations and Lifelong Engagement position. Responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive alumni relations program designed to increase alumni engagement and support of the university's strategic plan, the director will build stronger ties among alumni and the university, accomplished by a wide variety of programming, volunteer opportunities and communications. This position will also provide strategic leadership and direction to the Alumni Board of Directors and regional alumni chapters.

Donald WoodDonald Wood 鈥74, recently retired curator of Asian art for the Birmingham Museum of Art, has received The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays, one of Japan鈥檚 most prestigious awards in recognition of distinguished contributions to the promotion of Japanese culture.

 

Emily Miller and Peter RahalEmily Rogalski Miller 鈥01, director of neuroimaging at Northwestern 麻豆传媒团队 Cognitive Neurology & Alzheimer鈥檚 Disease Center, and Peter Rahal '08, CEO and co-founder of RXBar, were both recently named to Crain鈥檚 Chicago Business 40 Under 40 list. Miller earned the distinction for her groundbreaking work with SuperAgers, defined as seniors 80 and older with memory that is at least as good as individuals in their 50s and 60s. Rahal landed on the list for his drive and innovation, which led Kellogg to acquire RXBar for $600 million last year.

Trent ChamplinFor Trent W. Champlin 鈥17, finding his dream first job in government didn't take long. A legislative aide for State Sen. John Eklund of the 18th Senatorial District of Ohio, he serves as the chief scheduler for the senator.
